Discover what kind of car accessories the rich and famous pay for

Part of the fun of purchasing a new car is personalising it with add-ons and choosing your accessories. But of course, the pricier the car, the pricier the accessories are. When buying a car priced in excess of £100,000, it can be easy to double your spending with expensive extras.

To give you a glimpse into high-end luxury living, here at Octane Finance we’ve found some of the craziest-priced car accessories available to wealthy car enthusiasts. Some of them are jaw-droppingly expensive, so are they worth it? Take a look and decide…

Practical but pricey car accessories

We’re easing you into the most expensive car accessories with our first two examples. Their practicality almost makes these accessories justifiable! Although, we could argue that the same practicalities can be found for a fraction of the cost, but are they as good?

Extra car seats for £2,400

Tesla owners may be tempted by this add-on that is available for the Model Y. Priced at £2,400* for a row of two additional seats, these turn the Tesla from a standard five-seater to a seven-seater model by squeezing in an extra row at the back of the car. Of course extra seats mean compromise on the space available in the cabin, so it’s worth some considerable thought first.

Matching Louis Vuitton luggage for £18,200

In partnership with BMW, designer Louis Vuitton has created a luggage set that is perfectly shaped and sized for the BMW i8. Perfect for car-crazy high-flyers, the set priced at £18,200* consists of a business case, a garment bag, and two different travel bags. They fit comfortably into various compartments of the BMW i8 to optimise its rather limited storage space.

Exterior aesthetic car accessories

Expensive cars are designed to be shown off and these exterior add-ons take the wow-factor one step further, but at what cost?

A carbon fibre body for £122,000

Pagani is the ultimate in Italian supercar luxury, so it’s no surprise that the manufacturer charges the price of a small flat when it comes to accessories. A carbon fibre wrap for the Pagani Huayra will set you back a whopping £122,000*! This striking optional finish adds an extra 12% in torsional rigidity, but we think the main benefit is the brag factor.

A gold racing stripe for £35,000

Sports car superfans probably won’t be too shocked at the price of accessories for the Koenigsegg Jesko. As one of the fastest cars in the world, a gold leaf racing stripe will set you back a cool £35,000* to add a bit of bling.

Interior detail car accessories

If it’s luxury you want, then expensive taste needs to be evident on the inside too. The interior add-ons we’ve found have absolutely no functionality when it comes to driving a car, but boy, do they look the part!

Get the leather look for £4,950

How much leather can you fit into one Porsche? Well, for the right price - a hell of a lot! For £600* you can add leather sun visors, door sill guards for £2,350*, plus leather air vent slats which will set you back another £2000*!

A night-time view for £11,800

You’ll be seeing stars even during the day thanks to Rolls-Royce. The luxury car maker has developed the ultimate opulent interior for its Rolls-Royce Wraith. They’ve produced a 1,340 fibre-optic light display set within the roof if you can spare the extra £11,800*.

Tiny trinket car accessories

Looking for more subtle ways to splash the cash? Check out these little gems which will set you back a pretty penny. But you know what they say - if you’ve got it, flaunt it!

Diamond studded key for £18,600

Not settling for second best, Ferrari owners can show off their success thanks to diamond-studded car keys that double as a keyring too. Well, why not? The ultimate in blingy accessories will set you back £18,600* for 1,160 encrusted diamonds.

The Jaeger-LeCoultre Amvox2 wristwatch for £19,500

Watch fans will be drooling at the temptation Aston Martin provides its wealthy customers. Move over James Bond, DB9 owners can have their own 007 moment too by unlocking the car with their watch - yes, really! Not just a one-trick pony, the £19,500* Jaeger-LeCoultre Amvox2 wonder watch also turns on the headlights to make your already stand-out car even easier to find in the carpark. Now that’s quite a gadget!
