Octane Finance can today confirm that it will continue to support Porsche GB Junior Harry King as he looks to defend his Porsche Carrera Cup GB title in 2021.

The car finance company took on the role of primary sponsor with the highly-rated youngster from near Maidenhead in Berkshire last year as he made the move into the fastest one-make series in British motorsport.

Having seen off the challenge of more than 40 rivals, Harry secured the role of Porsche GB Junior Driver for the 2020 and 2021 seasons and joined forces with leading outfit Team Parker Racing for his debut in the Carrera Cup GB.

The partnership proved to be a match made in heaven as Harry stormed to the championship title at the first attempt in his stunning Octane Finance-branded Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car.

Across the season, the now 20-year-old would secure a grand total of twelve wins from 16 starts and took pole position at every meeting bar one - only missing out on a clean sweep by 0.002s in the season finale at Brands Hatch.

As well as lifting the Carrera Cup GB title, Harry was named as National Driver of the Year by readers of Autosport magazine.

Harry remains with Leicestershire-based Team Parker for the upcoming season, and will be seeking to follow Damien Faulkner, Michael Meadows and Dan Cammish as only the fourth driver to successfully defend the Carrera Cup GB title.

The new season will start at Snetterton in Norfolk in mid-May.

Harry King, said:

“I’m hugely excited to be returning to Porsche Carrera Cup GB again for 2021 in my role as the Porsche Junior driver, and to be continuing my partnership with Team Parker Racing and Octane Finance. To win the title in such record-breaking fashion last year was fantastic, and I’m looking forward to building on what we achieved together in our first year in the series.

"My goal is to get the maximum we can from every race - which wasn’t always possible last year with three retirements for reasons that were simply out of our control - and I am fully focused on securing a second championship in 2021.

"I’ve done everything identically to last season, from the same training right through to being in the same team with the same mechanics and engineers, so there is no reason why we shouldn’t be able to repeat what we did last year."

Dan Kirby, Octane Finance managing director, said:

"It goes without saying that we are delighted to be partnering Harry King again for the 2021 season. We were confident that he would make an impression on the Carrera Cup last year, but to win the title in the manner he did was absolutely unbelievable, with so many highlights along the way.

"Both on and off track, Harry has been an outstanding ambassador for Octane Finance since this partnership began, and we are looking forwards to further success during the year ahead."
