Octane Finance-backed Harry King secured a second win of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB season as the series headed for Silverstone for the latest two races of the year.

On a big weekend for the defending series champion - who is a member of the BRDC Superstars programme - Harry once again displayed his talents at the wheel of his Team Parker Racing-run car to close in on the top three in the championship standings.

Things started in positive fashion through pre-event testing, with Harry then putting the #19 Porsche onto the second row of the grid in qualifying.

When the opening race kicked off, Harry wasted little time in moving up into second place before setting his sights on Lorcan Hanafin ahead, although his hopes of making a move for the lead were halted by the deployment of the safety car to clear up an incident on track.

It didn't take long after the restart for Harry to find a way through however, as he sized up the leader before making his move at Brooklands to nip ahead into a lead he would hold until a further incident in the field saw the race red-flagged.

Fourth on the grid for race two - determined via a reverse grid draw - Harry quickly moved into third spot and pushed the leading pair hard in the early stages as he looked to replicate his double win from last season.

However, as the race wore on, he would struggle with the balance of his car and ended up crossing the line in fourth place.

Harry and the Octane Finance Porsche will head for Donington Park next for the penultimate meeting of the season.

"Silverstone was one of the my best weekends of the season last year and we returned in confident mood," he said. "It was important to try and bounce back from a tough weekend at Croft, and race one was a great way to start.

"There was some work to do to get up to the front from P3 on the grid and there were only limited chances to get ahead of Lorcan because of the safety cars. Making the move when there was chance was key, and to get fastest lap as well meant a good haul of points for the championship.

"It was unfortunate that we didn't have the same pace as race two wore on and we need to look into the reasons why, as the speed in the car was good in the early stages when I was pushing the two leaders.

"We've moved up in the championship standings this weekend, and hopefully we can fight for victory again at Donington Park as we look to end the year on a high."
