Octane Finance-backed Harry King has moved further clear in the race for the 2022 Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux title after wrapping up another double win at TT Assen.

Harry maintained his stunning run of form in the series this season at the wheel of his Parker Revs Motorsport-run car to move onto seven wins from just eight starts, enabling him to move more than 50 points clear at the top of the standings.

Having qualified second on the grid for the opening race of the weekend, Harry wasted little time in getting ahead of Ghislain Cordeel when the action kicked off, and was able to overcome a five-second penalty for a jump start to storm to an impressive win - even after a mid-race safety car had eroded his advantage at the front.

On pole for the second race of the weekend, Harry then headed the field from the start to make it two wins from two, even though a number of safety car periods prevented him from building any kind of advantage over the pack behind.

The double win means Harry is now firmly in the driving seat in the title race, although his commitments in the Mobil 1 Porsche Supercup will now prevent the rapid Briton from taking part in the next round of the year in Barcelona.

As a result, Harry will return to the Octane Finance-backed entry for the season finale in October looking to add the Benelux crown to the Porsche Carrera GB title he clinched back in 2020.

"I’d never visited Assen before, and it was tricky to learn the circuit because there were a number of red flags during practice," he said. "I think that played a part in why we missed out on pole in qualifying, although being on the front row still left us well placed to push for the win.

"Getting ahead early was the key thing and even with the time penalty, there was no way I was going to lose that race! To then follow it up with another win in a tricky second race with all the safety cars was particularly pleasing, as it was important to maximise the points given that I'll not be able to race at Barcelona next time out.

"With that in mind, a 51 point lead is a nice buffer to have over my closest rival and when we head to Germany for the final round, it will be full focus on trying to wrap up the title."
