Octane Finance and 67 Degrees Raise Over £12,000 for Automotive Charity Ben During Golf Day
Despite losing 10-6 to Brighton rivals, #TheDealersBroker celebrates record-breaking fundraising success and promises a return match
Sometimes the best partnerships are built on friendly competition and shared values. Last Wednesday (23rd July), we proved exactly that at The Dyke Golf Club in Brighton, where our inaugural OS Invitational Charity Golf Day raised an incredible £12,510 for Ben, the automotive industry charity.
Partnering with the brilliant team at 67 Degrees, we brought together dealer partners, affiliates, and industry professionals for a day that perfectly captured what makes our automotive community so special - competitive spirit, genuine camaraderie, and unwavering support for those who need it most.
#TheDealersBroker Meets Award-Winning Marketing
This event showcased the strength of industry partnerships at their very best. Since 67 Degrees created our website back in 2022, we've shared more than just business objectives - we've shared values, vision, and a genuine commitment to supporting the automotive community that's given us both so much.
The format was perfect: a Ryder Cup-style team competition that would test our skills on the fairways while raising vital funds for Ben. Our captain, Daniel Sams, led Team Octane Finance against Luke Stewart's Team 67 Degrees, setting up what promised to be a fantastic day of golf for an even better cause.
A Day of Competitive Golf & Outstanding Fundraising
On the golf course, we gave it absolutely everything. The standard of play was genuinely impressive, with both teams demonstrating real skill and determination throughout the 18 holes at this stunning Sussex venue. While Team 67 Degrees ultimately edged the victory 10-6, the competition was closer than the scoreline suggests, and the real winners were clear from the start…
£12,510 raised for Ben! That's a figure that exceeded everyone's expectations and will make a genuine difference to automotive industry workers and their families who need support.
The fundraising success came through a brilliant combination of:
- Generous corporate donations from both companies
- Creative on-course activities, including mulligan card sales and a 50/50 raffle
- A special auction featuring BTCC hospitality tickets donated by champion Tom Ingram (who also played for Team Octane Finance on the day!)
- Ben-themed quiz questions and interactive games throughout the course
Our Managing Director, Dan Horner, summed up the day perfectly:
"While we may not have lifted the trophy this time, the day was an absolute triumph for everyone involved. The funds raised for Ben will make a real difference to people in our industry, and that's what truly matters. Congratulations to Luke and the 67 Degrees team – they played brilliantly, but we'll be back stronger next year!"
Our team captain, Daniel Sams, reflected on leading the Octane Finance squad:
"What a fantastic day of golf and an incredible cause to be part of. Leading the Octane Finance team was a privilege, and while the result didn't go our way, the real victory was bringing our industry together for Ben. The competitive spirit was exactly what we hoped for, and I couldn't be prouder of how our team performed. We'll definitely be back to reclaim that trophy!"

Ellen Plumer, Head of Awareness & Experience at Ben, who joined us on the day, explained the impact of our fundraising achievements:
"Raising £12,510 through the OS Invitational is absolutely incredible and will directly change people's lives, helping them navigate challenges with their mental health, physical wellbeing, and financial difficulties. Events like this are vital in helping us continue our mission to provide support for life for automotive workers and their families when they need it most."
