As the fastest road car currently available from Ferrari, the 2022 SF90 Spider will certainly appeal to racing-driver wannabes. Thrill-seekers will revel in the speeds that can be achieved by the SF90 Spider, which can accelerate from 0-62 mph in just 2.5 seconds. Expect a top speed of 211 mph - but save that for the race track!   

Is the Ferrari SF90 Spider a supercar or hypercar?

Confirmed on the official Ferrari UK website, the SF90 Spider is in fact a supercar and not a hypercar as described by some, mainly due to the plug-in hybrid technology under the bonnet. It may be best described as a hybrid convertible supercar, which covers all bases.

• When reverting to plug-in power, you’ll lose the roar of the V8 engine in favour of an altogether silent drive
• When the roof is folded down, it does unfortunately take up what little storage space is available
• It is expensive and the list of options you’ll want to add is endless!
• It’s not very practical
• It will only reach distances of around 16-miles when using pure electric battery
• Lacks in driver-assist technology for the price  

What is the Ferrari SF90 Stradale?

The Ferrari SF90 Stradale is a sister model to the Ferrari SF90 Spider. A new series production supercar, the SF90 Stradale is the perfect blend of Ferrari’s race track and road cars. It encapsulates the marque’s most advanced technologies and is the first-ever Ferrari to feature Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) power.  

What is the difference between the Ferrari SF90 Spider and the Ferrari SF90 Stradale?

While sharing many similarities, the main difference between Ferrari’s SF90 Spider and SF90 Stradale is that the Spider is designed and built as a road car, whereas the Stradale blends the design and performance of a track-inspired car too.

The spec sheets and performance of both supercars may be alike, but the exterior design differs somewhat; the SF90 Spider is a convertible model compared to the SF90 Stradale which is a coupé.
